![]() ![]() ![]() "The Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra (TN) commissioned three works for solo fiddle and youth orchestra from Jim Wood, Tennessee and Alabama State Fiddle Champion. These works were performed by Tyler Andal, a young virtuoso fiddler originally from White House, Tennessee, who has been referred to by fiddler Darol Anger as "...one of the best of the new fiddle prodigies for whom no style or level of music is out of bounds." Tyler is a student at Middle Tennessee State University in the Recording Industry Department. He performed The Dogwood Tree, Periwinkles (a work inspired by the little snails of the same name), and a suite with three original works, including a waltz and a fiddle breakdown. These original works were premiered at Hinton Hall on the MTSU campus on October 24. This concert was funded under an agreement by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and the Tennessee Arts Commission."
